I am a 20-year-old student from Chicago, Ill. studying journalism at Arizona State University. I know, who am I to have a blog about snowboarding without living near any somewhat mountainous area?
Yeah, well somehow, I did the best I could. It goes to say how much traveling I have done for my snowboarding addiction. I have been up and down the Rocky Mountains from New Mexico to Alberta, Canada. Then made a couple trips to the Alps to see what the difference is – and there really is a difference. I have yet to make it out to New Zealand though. I have been dying to go ‘down under’ ever since I could snowboard, which has been 9 years now.
This blog is for all those people that travel with their snowboards thousands of miles to get to places that don’t exist in their region, but still can’t get enough of it. It just makes me mad when I see people spend a fortune to go somewhere really expensive, get there, and it’s overcrowded, the snow is chopped up, the park is terrible or theres on fresh powder, whatever can make you regret spending all that money. Same thing when people buy their gear and are completely unsatisfied with what they just got. It just frustrates me.
So I decided to inform people about what snowboarding is, where to go, what to get, what to see to be happy on a snowboard.
By the way, incase you were wondering here is my set-up:
